Thanks for the blog post and comments! Mobile Checkbook was designed for debit/check card users. Bank balances can be misleading since they may not include all recent transactions (gas station charge, tip at restaurant, utility bill payment, etc). It can be challenging to keep track of what items have posted and what items have not across multiple accounts. Mobile Checkbook gives users access to their true/available balance and includes many features such as the ability to schedule recurring transactions, reconciliation and more.

People do use plastic, especially debit cards. Many banks drop pending transactions until they clear and this is a gap in your register for up to 11 days. So keeping track of all your trasactions is much easier.

Now days, people use plastic more than cash and checks. So why would you use this if you can access your account from your device? Personally, I'm more interested in checking my balance, seeing deposits/withdrawls, transfering, etc.

I'm not sure how this is any better than just using the Notes app. However, if it integrated directly with my bank account so I can quickly cross reference, that might make it easier.
