Twitter For BlackBerry Now Available!

Twitter2

Just a few short months ago RIM released the Twitter for BlackBerry client in a private beta. Although there were many mirrors that offered a copy of the beta to users, it was not until yesterday morning that RIM made it official that it would be available to the public. For the most part the final public release seems to be a carbon copy of the beta release and offers the user an array of functions to make for a pleasant Twitter experience. Perhaps the one feature which sets it apart  from other popular clients such as Ubertwitter and Tweet Genius is its ability to seamlessly integrate with the messages inbox; a trademark feature for native BlackBerry applications.

If you are a fan of the Facebook application on your BlackBerry you’ll definitely enjoy the UI on Twitter for BlackBerry because they are nearly identical to each other. Or if you are a new Twitter user still somewhat reluctant to stray from Facebook this will definitely help ease you into the transition. I installed Twitter for BlackBerry on my Storm 2 and love it. Great looks and functionality. No problems installing. I do wish there was a way to make the Twitter app open automatically when you click on a Twitter link from email or the web. The default is the Twitter mobile site. Amazons app will do this. Maybe a setting somewhere that I’m missing. Overall, I think it’s a great app and recommend it highly.

Nice! I’m definitely going to have to download this one. I’ve been waiting for a solid Twitter app for my BBerry.
