We are hearing that RIM appears behind in production of the soon to be released BlackBerry PlayBook. RIM wanted at least 1 million PlayBooks on launch day but it appears that number will be much lower.
DigiTimes has reported that RIM is setting up a BlackBerry PlayBook production of 150,000 to 200,000 a month. Is this a manufacturing issue, RIM creating a “shortage” or just the desired number? We feel the PlayBook will do well in the market especially with the high performance QNX OS. So lets hope enough units are available.
