Apple’s iPhone 5 is the world’s best selling smartphone model according to Strategy Analytics. They reported that Apple shipped an estimated 27.4 million units which represents a 13% share of all smartphones. This surpassed Samsung’s Galaxy S III which shipped 15.4 million units.
Apple was also able to outsell the Galaxy S III with the iPhone 4S shipping 17.4 million units. Taking 8% smartphone shares globally.
The iPhone was able to account for 1 in every 5 smartphones sold which is remarkable for its premium price and shear numbers of low cost competitors.
The Galaxy S III series peaked and is now on the decline with sales. We should see Samsung announcing the Galaxy S I’V very soon.
