If you follow Qualcomm on Tweeter you would’ve seen the tweet they posted of their new Snapdragon 800. In the image you will notice the Qualcomm chip inside of a smartphone, what smartphone that might be, who knows? The tweet “A new #Snapdragon 800 powered smartphone is launching next week at @intlCES – here’s a first look.” Guess we will have to wait until CES 2015 (which is days away) to find out which smartphone the Snapdragon 800 finds a home in. Make sure to follow the team of Life On My Mobile for what’s in store at CES.
It’s almost that time of the year when all tech geeks travel to Las Vegas and get lost in a sea of technology and people for several days.
CES 2015 officially starts on January 6, 2015 and your team from Life On My Mobile will be on-site to cover all the new technology as it is unveiled. If you want to keep up with what’s happening at CES, make sure you follow @LifeOnMyMobile on Twitter.
In this day and age, almost everyone is looking for a gadget that can tie into their smartphone that will make their life easier in some way. The folks at BACtrack have come up with a small portable Bluetooth breathalyzer that will accurately measure how much alcohol you have in your system. This may help you make an educated decision about when you have had too much to drink.
Remember how crappy WhatsApp security is and the developers really don’t seem to care? Once again the lack of an encrypted WhatsApps database leads to a game, stealing conversations and selling them. All the user needed was your phone number if you had both WhatsApp and Balloon Pop 2 installed.
Balloon Pop 2 was removed from the Google Play store once it was discovered that a for a fee anyone could grab a copy of the users WhatsApp conversation.
The apps website listed the game as a way to “backup” your WhatsApp conversations but the real reason is to spy on someone. It is pretty easy to get someone to install a game and then you have access to their WhatsApp conversations. All the person who wanted access to your private conversation had to do was visit the WhatsAppCopy website, enter your phone number and pay a fee.
If you have this game I suggest you delete it ASAP. If you want any more info on this issue check out the article written by Graham Cluley via this link. A friendly reminder, anything you do on the Internet isn’t private.
Lets face it, we are consumed with powering our devices. Mobile accessory markets are being flooded with portable batteries, power supplies, and phone cases with built in battery life extenders. Each new generation of devices seems to run down batteries faster to power the latest processors, higher definition screens, speakers and more. When is the last time you remember making through and entire day without needing to charge your phone at least once? If you’re on the go like I am, you may forget to grab that power cord, or may not want to deal with that tangly mess.
That’s where Nomad stepped in. Their solution for your power and syncing needs is simple, efficient, and built to fit your life. Their product offerings come in two forms, the NomadKey and the NomadClip. Both are available in lightning cable or micro USB, and they will charge and sync your device.
I have long been a fan of Pebble, and some may call be boring and plain, but I’m a fan of the black version. Yes, white or red tickle some people’s fancy, but I’m a simple guy. Now Pebble has kicked it up a few notches and introduced several new colors that are available for a limited time only. If you have ever thought about wanting a Pebble, but didn’t like the current color choices, take a look again and see what you think of their new lineup. Visit them at getpebble.com.
It’s been a week since International CES in Las Vegas, Nevada. I was taking a look back on what the “WOW factor” was for me, and the Ascend Mate 2 4G from Huawei stood out.
Samsung has been the biggest name in the Android device arena when it comes to smartphones, especially when it comes to bigger displays. Huawei has designed a device that can easily compete with Samsung’s Note series and give them a run for their money.
When first getting my hands on the Ascend Mate 2 4G, I was automatically drawn in by the display. Usually a bigger screen doesn’t do much for me, but a 6.1” display will grab your attention, especially since I’m an iPhone 5S (4” display) user. When playing around with the handset and talking with the Huawei rep, the first feature she pointed out was the 4050 mAh battery that gives you up to 60 hours of battery life. A power user can go up to 12 hours of display with data access. This is perfect for the majority of us who live on our smartphone. Not to mention you’re even able to charge another device right from smartphone as well. Perfect for topping off Bluetooth accessories, etc. Read more
