These cities included Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Denver, New Orleans, New York City, Orlando, Phoenix, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, and Seattle. Yesterday morning it was announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona that two dozen of the worlds wireless operators will combined an alliance to compete with Apple who has overtaken the application market with over 150,000 applications.
The Alliance is calling themselves the Wholesale Applications Community. Orange, AT&T, and Telefonica are some of the technology platform designers set to deliver applications to all mobile-phone users. Also taking a role in this alliance is Verizon Wireless, China Mobile and Softbank of Japan to create standard, common technology. LG Electronics, Samsung, and Sony Ericsson being large manufacturers have also joined this community. Read more
Apple released an update to the iPhone operating system today. OS 3.1.3 is available for all iPhone / iTouch device. This release focused on bug fixes and solutions to a handful of security problems. Read more
Yesterday, Steve Jobs of Apple announced what has yet to be one of the greatest pieces of technology since the iPhone, the iPad. Which looks a lot like an iPhone or iTouch, but much larger. The iPad has a 9.7-inch touch screen making it easier for you to answer those emails, surf the web, look at photos or even watch movies. For being much larger you would be surprise that the iPad only weights 1.5 pounds and is 0.5 inches thick with the same slight curve as the iPhone and iTouch making it easier to hold on to. Read more
