Sprint And LG Launching More 4G/ LTE Devices

Sprint is expanding their 4G/ LTE devices as the company has announced availability of the LG Mach and pre-orders for the LG Optimus G have started today, November 1st.

The LG Mach will be available starting November 11th for $99.99 with a qualifying two-year agreement. The Mach has a 4 inch WVGA display, runs Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 5 megapixel camera with flash, 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera and full QWERTY slide out keyboard.

 

The LG Optimus G will go for $199.99 with a qualifying two-year agreement with pre-orders going on now. The Optimus G has a 4.7 inch WXGA display, 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, a fantasy 13 megapixel rear camera with advanced features, 1.3 front-facing camera and also runs Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).

 

Google Announces The Samsung Nexus 10 And LG Nexus 4

 

Google’s press event was cancelled today due to Hurricane Sandy, but that didn’t stop the company from making their announcements online as they have unveiled the Samsung Nexus 10 and the LG Nexus 4.

The Samsung Nexus 10 has a 10-inch WQXGA display (2560 x 1600 pixel), a dual-core A15 processor, 2 GB of RAM, 5 megapixel rear camera, 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera, available in 16 GB or 32 GB of internal memory, a 9000 mAh Lithium polymer battery and running Google’s new Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean).

The other device is manufactured by LG, the Nexus 4 has a 4.7-inch WXGA IPS display (1280 x 768 pixel), Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 8 megapixel rear camera, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, available 8 GB or 16 GB of internal memory, 2 GB of RAM, NFC (Android Beam) and also running Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). The Nexus 4 does lack LTE. This is noted as being due to size and battery constraints.

Both the Nexus 10 and Nexus 4 will be available through Google’s Play Store starting November 13th in United States and other countries. The Nexus 10 will be priced at $399 (16 GB) and $499 (32 GB) Wi-Fi version only.

The Nexus 4 will be available for $299 (16GB) or $349 (32 GB) unlocked in the Play Store, or if T-Mobile is your carrier the 16 GB versions will go for $199.99 on qualifying two-year agreement starting November 14th.

 

AT&T Opens Pre-Orders For The LG Optimus G

The LG Optimus G Landing At AT&T November 2

AT&T has announced that the LG Optimus G, the first LTE quad-core smartphone will be available November 2nd for $199.99 with a new two-year agreement or qualifying upgrade. Pre-orders for the smartphone will start tomorrow (Tuesday, October 16th).

The LG Optimus G is running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) has a 4.7 inch TrueHD IPS+ display, 1280 x 768 resolution, 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 13 megapixel rear camera with zero-lag shutter, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, 2 GB RAM, NFC (Near Field Communications) support and 4G LTE.

Overall, if you’re an Android fan on AT&T the LG Optimus G might be a perfect fit. You can’t go wrong with a 13-megapixel camera. Only downfall is the smartphone is launching with Android 4.0 instead of 4.1 (Jelly Bean), but I’m sure an update will follow shortly after launch.

Those devices are the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), LG Optimus G, the LG Mach and the Sprint Plug-in-Connect Tri-Mode USB. The LG Optimus L9 Arriving This Fall On T-Mobile

T-Mobile and LG have announced that the LG Optimus L9 smartphone will be available this fall.

“As the latest device in LG’s L-Series smartphones, LG Optimus L9 has been designed to fulfill users’ needs for a slim, stylish device that is comfortable to use,” said James Fishler, senior vice president of marketing and go-to-market operations, LG Electronics USA. “With LG Optimus L9, users can take advantage of premium smartphone features – a stunning display, a powerful processor and a long-lasting battery – in a sleek design.”

The smartphone will be running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) on a 4.5-inch qHD display, 1 GHz dual-core processor, 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, 1080p HD video recording and has a 2,150 mAh battery.

No release date or price has been given with the announcement, but fall is already here so can’t be too long until the Optimus L9 arrives.

 

The LG Optimus Vu II Specifications Leaked

Leaked specifications of the LG Optimus Vu II have appeared on-line from the Korean blog Bad IT Tong. According to the image and specs the Vu II keeps a similar form factor as its brother the Optimus Vu, but with some slightly different hardware.

The Optimus Vu II is said to have a 1.5 GHz dual-core MSM 8960 processor, 1080x 768 IPS display, running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), 2 GB of RAM, 8 megapixel rear camera, up to 32 GB of storage (via microSD card) and a 2,150 mAh battery.

None of the important information has been leaked like a release date or price, but I’m sure that information will surface before you know it.

NPD Group States Samsung And Apple Take 55% Of Smartphone Sales In Q2

According to NPD Group, Samsung and Apple represent 55% of smartphone sales in the 2nd quarter of 2012. Between this time last year and now the two companies have ha a sales increase totaling 43%, as unit sales for other smartphone manufactures fell 16%.

“By concentrating on their best, flagship devices, while at the same time supplementing their volumes with lower priced alternatives, both Apple and Samsung are extending their lead over the other smartphone makers,” said Baker. “To be a share leader means participating in all segments of the market, in order to take advantage of pre-paid and other growth opportunities, while also providing the hero devices that drive customers to your brand.”

Apple was at top with 31%, followed by Samsung at 24%, HTC 15%, Motorola 12% and LG at 6%.
