Best Buy Mobile Launches Free Phone Fridays for October

Looking for a free high-end smartphone? Best Buy wants to make it happen. Starting this Friday October 1st Best Buy will be offering four free phones every Friday through October. Best Buy is starting off big with the Verizon Galaxy S Fascinate. Also this Friday they are offering the AT&T HTC Aria, Sprint BlackBerry Curve and T-Mobile Samsung Gravity 3. Read more

Sprint Releases Samsung Media Hub to Epic

Sprint is now taking advantage of the Samsung Media Hub. Sprint pushed out an over the air update to the Epic which allows you to now rent or purchase movies or TV shows. Movie rentals run $2.99 to $3.99 for a 24 hour period and television show purchases are $1.99. There is some good content and we can only hope that Sprint and Samsung really expand the offerings.

Galaxy S Tablet To Be Released Soon

Samsung made a huge impact in the Android community with the Galaxy S Vibrant on T-Mobile, Fascinate on Verizon, Epic on Sprint and Captivate on AT&T. With the Galaxy S’ success you would think Samsung would feel comfortable laying low for a while and enjoy the success of their Android phones success.

Samsung has decided to fully embrace the Android OS and is getting ready to launch the Galaxy S Tab(let). The release is set to fully take advantage of the 2010 holiday season. The only question that remains is if Samsung is going to be releasing on all the major carriers like the Galaxy S did. Rumor has it that’s the Galaxy S tab is going to be released by Sprint, AT&T, and Verizon and we can only hope  T-Mobile will jump on board and carry the Tab as well. Specs after the jump. Read more

Samsung Galaxy S A "Vibrant" Addition To T-Mobile

Earlier this morning I was contacted by a close friend affiliated with the retail side of T-Mobile USA. He just received word directly from their Samsung account representative that T-Mobile will in fact be getting the Samsung Galaxy S during the first week of July. There has been much speculation and rumor that with the launch of Verizon’s HTC Incredible and Sprint’s EVO 4G that T-Mobile and Samsung were making a push to release this earlier than originally anticipated. Not to mention the hype surrounding Apple’s iPhone 4 which is expected to hit shelves on June 24th. Read more

Samsung Galaxy S To Make A Splash This Summer

Ask any attendee of CTIA 2010 who made the biggest announcement during the event and they’d be hard pressed to choose between Samsung and Sprint’s presence during the show. Both made some huge announcements and showed off industry standard setting devices. The entire show seemed to focus on mobile broadband and Sprint did well in announcing their HTC EVO 4G, but Samsung very much held their own unveiling its latest smartphone device; the Galaxy S.

Wholesale Applications Community Challenges Apple Application Dominance

Yesterday morning it was announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona that two dozen of the worlds wireless operators will combined an alliance to compete with Apple who has overtaken the application market with over 150,000 applications.

The Alliance is calling themselves the “Wholesale Applications Community”. Orange, AT&T, and Telefonica are some of the technology platform designers set to deliver applications to all mobile-phone users. Also taking a role in this alliance is Verizon Wireless, China Mobile and Softbank of Japan to create standard, common technology. LG Electronics, Samsung, and Sony Ericsson being large manufacturers have also joined this community.  Read more
