Nokia Jumps In “Line” With Samsung – Mocking Apple

It’s always interesting to see manufactures attack Apple and this time instead of Samsung, Nokia is taking a bite out of the apple.

It is a simple attack that makes us wonder if Nokia believes smartphone technology is all about color. I for one like a neutral color device with a wide range of colorful accessories.

Nokia ends the ad with “This is Lumia”! The title of the ad is “Time to #switch”, take a look at the ad and let us know what you think.

Mysterious Phi Windows Phone 8 Design Released

WP Central

The design patent for Nokia’s latest and greatest Windows phone 8 device, code-named the Phi, has finally been released. The design drawings are brought to us by Liveside who did some digging and uncovered a new patent filing that looks to be the newest Nokia Windows 8 Phone submitting in drawings.

At first glance the design looks almost identical to the Lumia 800 and 900, but upon further inspection of the design the design matches previously leaked pictures of the Phi. One rumor that surrounded this device was that it had a curved screen which seems to have been proved wrong by this design drawing. No curved screen for the Phi.

The back of the “Phi” will be curved however, most likely to accommadate larger battery needed to power the large 4.7 inch display. Along with the larger battery, the Phi comes equipped with two speakers rather than just one previously seen on the Lumina series.

The buttons orientation on the Phi appears to be the same as the Lumina series only the buttons on the Phi have been spaced to take full advantage of the 4.7 inch display. The design features a micro USB on the bottom of the phone with a 3.5 mm headphone jack directly above it on the top of the phone accompanied by a dual microSIM/microSD card tray.

The Nokia Phi is being released on AT&T and is supposedly featuring these specifications:

  • 4.65 inch AMOLED display and ClearBlack 1280×720
  • 4G LTE
  • microSD, NFC
  • Qualcomm Dual-core CPU, 1.5GHz
  • polycarbonate, unibody design
