As of today Apple has reached the 10,000,000 download mark. The lucky person downloading the 10 billionth application will receive a $10,000 iTunes credit . A few other companies got involved with $5,000 to $1,000 rewards if the 10 billionth app was theirs.

How does Apple celebrate the download of 10,000,000,000 application downloads? They give away a $10,000 iTunes gift card. I am not sure what you would do with a $10,000 iTunes card. You are automatically entered to win every time you download an app from the app store.

Google has launched its version of eBooks. Google touts the largest book collection at over 3 millions books available. While it seems the market these days is fairly flooded with eBook solutions the most important to Google is you can take the ebook device to device and on the web.

Apple is contacting its faithful with a free iTunes movie rental code to what appears to be random iTunes users. There hasn’t been anything said as to why Apple has decided to start this promotion, but I’m sure if you’re one the iTunes user that receives a promo code you’re not complaining.
