LG Lucid 2 Coming To Verizon

Verizon has announced that the company will be offering the LG Lucid 2 starting April 14th. The Lucid 2 is being offered for free with a two-year contract.

The Lucid 2 was designed to attract first time smartphone users and comes equipped with a 4.3 inch qHD IPS display, 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 Krait processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, 5 megapixel rear camera, a 2,460 mAh battery and powered by Google’s Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean).

No release date has been revealed.

 

LG Crashes Samsung’s Event In Time Square

Today is Samsung’s big day and the company has been advertising “Be Ready 4 The Next Galaxy” in Time Square as they prepare to announce the Galaxy S IV tonight.

LG has decided to make their presence known. Above Samsung’s ad space LG placed an ad that simply states “LG Optimus G is here 4 you now!”

That’s great marketing by LG, but Samsung faithful will be unfazed as the event unfolds tonight.

Huawei And LG Firefox Handsets Spotted At MWC

Alcatel and ZTE have already announced their Firefox OS handsets and we know LG and Huawei are two of the other manufactures that are also working with Mozilla. While they haven’t made any official announcements images of the devices have surfaced.

CNET was able to get some images of what appears to be both Huawei and LG’s handsets on Firefox OS. Now it’s not official if those are the devices, but the tip is that the handsets are in a case full of Firefox phones.

Mozilla’s Firefox OS Is On The Way, Devices By ZTE, LG, Alcatel And Huawei

Mozilla has officially announced that their Firefox OS for mobile devices will be operating in 18 world markets and be the first Open Web Devices.

When Firefox OS takes off the first markets to get their hands on the Firefox OS devices will be Brazil, Colombia, Hungary, Mexico, Montenegro, Poland, Serbia, Spain and Venezuela. This is just the first wave of markets to roll out; additional markets will be announced at a later date.

Mozilla is working with manufacturers who have already been busy at MWC (Mobile World Congress) like Alcatel, Huawei, LG and ZTE. All of the first Firefox OS devices will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset.

We already know of two handsets that have been announced to run Firefox OS. These include the ZTE Open and Alcatel One Touch Fire. Both devices are similar in specifications, but look completely different in appearance.

Handsets for the U.S. running Firefox OS are expected to arrive in 2014. No prices on the handset announced have been given, but check back in for more details as we find out.

LG Introduces New L Series II Before Mobile World Congress

Mobile World Congress hasn’t arrived yet and LG has already unveiled their new line-up, the Optimus L Series II. In the new Optimus L Series LG will be introducing three new devices the Optimus L7 II, Optimus L3 II and Optimus L5 II.

“LG has a history of pushing the envelope when it comes to style and Optimus L SeriesII builds on this heritage of design innovation,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “By evolving the sophisticated style and premium features of the original Optimus L Series, its sequel is expected to continue the popularity of the L Series around the world.”

Of the three the Optimus L7 II is going to be the bigger of the devices sporting a 4.3 inch WVGA IPS display, 1 GHz dual-core (Qualcomm MSM8225) processor, 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, front-facing VGA camera and a 2,460 mAh battery. The L7 II will also be the first of the phones to be available starting this week in Russia. Other areas to soon follow.

Not many details have been released about the L3 II or L5 II, but the L3 will have a 3.2-inch QVGA IPS display with a 1,540 mAh battery. As for the L5 II it will have a 4.0-inch WVGA display and 1,700 mAh battery and will be announced at a later date.

New LG Series To Be Unveiled

If you follow LG Mobile on Facebook you probably noticed their post about “New Series Will Be Unveiled” with just an image of a bow. The caption with the image says, ” See what surprise LG has in store for you this time, with an unexpected distinction.”

LG fans seem to be really excited according to some of the comments left on the post. I’m sure like us, the fans can’t wait for MWC (Mobile World Congress) to hurry up arrive. MWC takes place in Barcelona where the company introduced the L-style series last year. What would you like to see LG introduce this year?

T-Mobile Begins Selling the Nexus 4 Again

The Nexus 4 was first released by T-Mobile last year and the device became so popular that T-Mobile’s stock quickly ran out and the stock hadn’t been replenished until now. If you are in the market for the Nexus 4 on T-Mobile you better act fast before this batch of devices is gone too.

As with all providers T-Mobile is selling the Nexus 4 for $199 with a new two-year contract or if you don’t have an upgrade or would rather not extend your contract you can by the device out right for $599. Sprint And LG Launching More 4G/ LTE Devices

Sprint is expanding their 4G/ LTE devices as the company has announced availability of the LG Mach and pre-orders for the LG Optimus G have started today, November 1st.

The LG Mach will be available starting November 11th for $99.99 with a qualifying two-year agreement. The Mach has a 4 inch WVGA display, runs Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 5 megapixel camera with flash, 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera and full QWERTY slide out keyboard.

 

The LG Optimus G will go for $199.99 with a qualifying two-year agreement with pre-orders going on now. The Optimus G has a 4.7 inch WXGA display, 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, a fantasy 13 megapixel rear camera with advanced features, 1.3 front-facing camera and also runs Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).

 

Google Announces The Samsung Nexus 10 And LG Nexus 4

 

Google’s press event was cancelled today due to Hurricane Sandy, but that didn’t stop the company from making their announcements online as they have unveiled the Samsung Nexus 10 and the LG Nexus 4.

The Samsung Nexus 10 has a 10-inch WQXGA display (2560 x 1600 pixel), a dual-core A15 processor, 2 GB of RAM, 5 megapixel rear camera, 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera, available in 16 GB or 32 GB of internal memory, a 9000 mAh Lithium polymer battery and running Google’s new Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean).

The other device is manufactured by LG, the Nexus 4 has a 4.7-inch WXGA IPS display (1280 x 768 pixel), Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 8 megapixel rear camera, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, available 8 GB or 16 GB of internal memory, 2 GB of RAM, NFC (Android Beam) and also running Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). The Nexus 4 does lack LTE. This is noted as being due to size and battery constraints.

Both the Nexus 10 and Nexus 4 will be available through Google’s Play Store starting November 13th in United States and other countries. The Nexus 10 will be priced at $399 (16 GB) and $499 (32 GB) Wi-Fi version only.

The Nexus 4 will be available for $299 (16GB) or $349 (32 GB) unlocked in the Play Store, or if T-Mobile is your carrier the 16 GB versions will go for $199.99 on qualifying two-year agreement starting November 14th.
