The Motorola DROID RAZR HD And DRIOD RAZR MAXX HD Arrive Next Week

The Motorola DROID RAZR R has already been living its life on Verizon Wireless network and today the company announced that the rest of DROID RAZR line-up would be joining Verizon Wireless on October 18th.

The Motorola DROID RAZR HD (16 GB) will be available for $199.99 in either black or white and the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX HD will go for $299.99 (32 GB) in black. Both require a new two year contract.

DROID RAZR HD:

Motorola And Intel Introduce The Motorola RAZR i

Today in London Motorola and Intel unveil the Motorola RAZR i. The RAZR i comes equipped with a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display with qHD resolution (Gorilla Glass), Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with an upgrade to Jelly Bean after launch, a single-core 2 GHz Intel Atom processor (supports hyper-threading), 8 megapixel rear camera, .3 megapixel front-facing VGA camera, 8 GB of internal storage, Kevlar backing and 2,000 mAh battery.

As always no pricing or a release date. It seems like Apple is the only one to announce a device and give all the details.

 

Motorola Unveils The New RAZR Series

Today was a busy day for smartphone announcements. Earlier this morning it was Nokia and now we have the Motorola introducing three new devices.

Theses include the Droid RAZR M, Droid RAZR HD and Droid RAZR MAXX HD. All three smartphones will join their older brother the Droid RAZR at Verizon. They feature the Kevlar backing (not bullet proof) along with Gorilla Glass covering the display.

Driod RAZR M:

We are a little let down these devices are not launching with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) but Motorola made a bold statement today that devices released in 2012 will be running 4.1 by years end or users will get a $100 credit towards a device that does run 4.1.

The Droid RAZR R will be the first to hit shelves starting next week for $99 after a $50 mail-in-rebate and a qualifying two-year agreement. The Droid RAZR HD and MAXX HD will be available before the Holidays. Kudos to Motorola on their new RAZR series.

 

Sprint Motorola Photon Q – 4G LTE smartphone coming August 19th!

Sprint has announced that pre-orders for the Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE smartphone will begin today. Customers can go to the Sprint website to place their pre-order, and can expect availability of the much anticipated smartphone on Sunday, August 19th, 2012. The Photon Q is listed for $199.99 with a standard 2-year service agreement.

For those of you needing a refresher on what the Photon Q has to offer, here it is:

NPD Group States Samsung And Apple Take 55% Of Smartphone Sales In Q2

According to NPD Group, Samsung and Apple represent 55% of smartphone sales in the 2nd quarter of 2012. Between this time last year and now the two companies have ha a sales increase totaling 43%, as unit sales for other smartphone manufactures fell 16%.

“By concentrating on their best, flagship devices, while at the same time supplementing their volumes with lower priced alternatives, both Apple and Samsung are extending their lead over the other smartphone makers,” said Baker. “To be a share leader means participating in all segments of the market, in order to take advantage of pre-paid and other growth opportunities, while also providing the hero devices that drive customers to your brand.”

Apple was at top with 31%, followed by Samsung at 24%, HTC 15%, Motorola 12% and LG at 6%.

Motorola Atrix HD Coming July 15

Motorola has unveiled the Motorola Atrix HD, which will land at AT&T stores on July 15th. The Atrix HD is thin at 8.4 millimeters and is protected by a Kevlar layer on the backside. (Sorry not bullet proof)

The Smartphone will be rocking a 4.5-inch HD display, along with an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera supporting 1080p HD video recording at 30 frames per second as well as a front-facing camera with capable of 720p.

The Atrix HD will be running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), with availability in white or titanium. The device is priced at $99.99 with a new two-year agreement.

Motorola DROID XYBOARD Tablets Available Starting Today

The Motorola DROID XYBOARD 10.1 inch and 8.2 inch are available starting today through Verizon. Customers will be able to purchase either tablet through Verizons website or Verizon Wireless stores.

Both tablets ship with Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) and will have upgrades for Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) in the not too distant future.

Pricing:

  • The DROID XYBOARD 10.1 will be available in three models: 16 GB for $529.99, 32 GB for $629.99 and the 64 GB model will be available online for $729.99.
  • The DROID XYBOARD 8.2 will be available in two models: 16 GB for $429.99 and 32 GB for $529.99.
  • Customers that purchase a DROID XYBOARD tablet will need to subscribe to a Verizon Wireless Mobile Broadband data plan starting at $30 a month for 2 GB of data.

Verizon Celebrates One Year Of LTE And Announces DROID XYBOARD Tablet Is On Its Way

Best Buy To Offer Free Smartphones On Black Friday

You can always count on Black Friday for low prices on items, but FREE for a smartphone sounds pretty sweet. Best Buy is going to be offering a handful of free smartphones running Android and BlackBerry. (Apple does not allow discounting of the iPhone)

Verizon consumers will be able to choose between the HTC Incredible 2 or Samsung Stratosphere (in black or white), Sprint will be offering the HTC EVO Shift 4G and on AT&T you can pick between the BlackBerry Torch 9810, LG Thrill and the Motorola Atrix 2.

Granted the smartphone is free, you will still have to sign up for a two year agreement.
