Samsung Unveils Galaxy Note 8.0 An 8 inch Phablet, Just Because

Galaxy Note 8.0

Samsung has introduced the newest member to the Galaxy line-up, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0. The Galaxy Note 8.0 is an 8-inch tablet that can be used as a phone as well. Yes an 8″ phone. Imagine making a call on your iPad Mini of Kindle Fire HD.

The Galaxy Note 8.0 looks like a pretty good device. It offers all the same functionally as the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note II, but with a new age of S Pen intelligence. Not to mention, it’s 8 inches. We are pretty sure this 8″ size, ability to be used as a phone and has a better screen than the iPad Mini was nothing more then marketing. Everyone wants to claim the best and brightest display and it appears for now, size does matter.

HP Announces The Slate 7

HP Slate 7

HP has introduced the HP Slate 7. When the company launched their first tablet back in 2011, the TouchPad was running WebOS. The TouchPad ended up just taking up warehouse space and faded away over seven weeks.

The HP Slate 7 will be the company’s second attempt to break into the tablet market. Is Android the saving grace for HP? We won’t know for a while, but the tablet market is already crowed with Android devices.

HP is hoping Beats Audio will help sell this device. Users will get good sound quality and a rich audio experience with the tablet. HP is also touting their ePrint app that lets you easily print while at home or on the go. Also there is also a native print capability that enables you to print directly from within most applications.

The Slate 7 specifications:

7-inch LCD display

1.6 GHz ARM dual-core Cortex-A9 processor

Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)

1 GB of RAM

3-megapixel rear-facing camera

VGA front-facing camera

8 GB of internal storage

The HP Slate 7 will cost $169 and is expected to arrive in the U.S. come April. That is a great price point to help HP get some solid tablet sales under their belt.
