AT&T Officially Throttling Unlimited Data Users

AT&T has kept to their word and are cracking down on their heavy unlimited data users as the company started sending out text messages warning data speeds have been reduced. The days of fast unlimited data is over. The message sent out to customers states “Your data usage is among the top 5% of users. Data speeds for the rest of your current bill cycle may be reduced. Visit www.att.com/dataplans.

Needless to say, users that fall in that top 5 percent, which means exceeding roughly 2 GB of data use, will see a slowing of their connection down to 2G or as we call it, dial up.

Has AT&T called you out about your data use? If so tell us your experience in comments.
